The Rappahannock Panthers dropped a pair of close basketball games after the exams, losing to Page County last Friday night and to Central on Monday.
Injuries, discipline problems and gradfes have cut the varsity team from 15 to nine. As a result Kevin Jolliffe is the only senior left on the starting lineup.
He played what may be the best game of his career against Central, scoring 29 points,
Unfortunately the game was marred by consistly poor officiating. By the fourth quarter both coaches had, for the most part, stopped objecting to the calls that went against them. Several times when the referee had completely missed an outof-bounds call, the two men just turned and shrugged their shoulders.
Down early at the beginning, the Panthers clawed their way back into the game and were ahead, 21-20, after the first quarter. Central mounted a nine point run half way
