To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the coaches, parents and sponsors for making 1992 a great success!

In 1992 we grew from 200 players to over 300. We added a new team in each of the minor, major, and 13-15 Babe Ruth divisions. We even started our girls softball program with two 6-12 year old teams.

We made some field improvements adding dugouts and bleachers.

For the first time the R.A.A. hosted a district 10 and under tournament. Every coach involved of the 13 coaches from all teams in our district had higlfpraise for our handling of the tournament and the condition of the fields. We have been asked to host the 13-15 year old tournament this year. A decision on that will be made soon.

The R.A.A. is not only making an impact in our community but throughout the district too. But the job is not finished. This year we would like to acquire more county support, complete negotiation with the county for the use of the former dumpster site on Route 642, complete Stuart field improvements and unify the two ends of the county.

All these goals can only be accomplished with the continued support of the coaches, parents, community businesses and officials. With cooperation, dedication and a little hard work, I believe we can have another successful baseball season.

In an effort to unite the league, this year we are planning Xo hold a single county-wide draft for 5-12 year old’s. Coaches will be allowed to pick players from anywhere in the Babe Ruth Geographical Bounda
