Mt. Lebanon offers
adult study groups
By H.W. HOLSCHUH
Rappahannock News Contributing Writer
Five Bible study classes are available for adults every Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. Young adults think the new “College and Career” group is great. Adult couples and singles are choosing between “Pairs and Spares One” and “Pairs and Spares Two,” while senior men and senior women each have their own studydiscussion groups.
Pastor Tom Wiles invites all friends and neighbors to join one of these study groups. Bible study references for each Sunday are indicated below:
The theme of the senior women’s group led by Helen Holschuh is “Sharing the good news,” with study -material drawn from the following: Feb. 7, Luke chapter 24; Feb. 14, Romans chapter 10; Feb. 21, Romans chapter 15; Feb, 28, 2nd Timothy chapters 2 and 3, and Titus chapter 2.
Senior men and “Pairs and Spares One” will both be finding inspiration from the Book of Psalms. Study group leaders Bob Heffern and Howdy Holschuh will be reviewing the following: Feb. 7, Psalms 77, 85, and 126; Feb. 14, Psalms 58, 83, and 137; Feb. 21, Pslams 23, 27, and 188; Feb. 28, Psalms 18, 66, and 121.
Adult couples and singles looking for a different approach to Bible study are joining Mt. Lebanon’s “Pairs and Spares Two," led by Rev. Wiles and Pat Watson. The emphasis of this class for the month of February is to explore Biblical doctrine, with a goal of gaining "a better understanding of the basic principles presented in the Bible, to realize their implications of our lives, and to become personally involved in living out the truths of these doctrines.
