Beauty contest
The Castleton Fire and Rescue Department will be hosting a womanless beauty contest at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12 at Rappahannock High School. First, second and third prize will be awarded for the prettiest beauties. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 children 12 and under. Tickets will be sold in advance and may be purchased by calling 9373076 or 937-4676, after 6 p. m.
Support group to meet
The Transplant Support Group will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4 in the conference room at Culpeper Baptist Church. This group is for transplant recipients, potential recipients and their families. All persons meeting the criterion above are invited to participate. Play group meets
A play group meets from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursdays at Trinity Episcopal Church. You may wish to bring a snack for yourself and your children. All are welcome. For any questions call 937-5314.

Thrift shop open
The Washington Ladies Auxiliary Thrift Shop is still open. The shop is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays. Donations are still being accepted and can be left on the enclosed porch. The shop will remain open as long as the weather remains nice.
Reiki healing seminar
Reiki (prounced Ray-key) is a simple yet profound healing art which is steeped in over 2,500 years of Japanese Tradition. Written about in the history of Japan and in the Buddhist sutras (sacred writ- ' ings) of long ago, Reiki was rediscovered by Dr. Miko Usui in the late ! 1800s. A workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Flint Hill on Feb. 5-7. The Rappahannock Athletic Association (RAA) will hold a public meeting on RAA baseball at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 11 at the Amissville fire j hall. Due to the growth in the past three years, the league has decided ; to discuss a single draft system for the entire league. That is a player from either end of the county could be drafted to play for a team on either end of the county.
