Hauling of
Leachate From
Landfill
The Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors are soliciting bids on services to haul wastewater from the Rappahannock County Landfill (Rt. 639, Amissville) to the Warrenton Wastewater Treatment Facility, located on U S. Rt. 211 in Warrenton, VA.
The volume of material produced is in the vicinity of 1,000 gallons per day, but pumping and hauling operations should be arranged so as to manage the gallonage produced (which increases in wet weather). The landfill operator shall arrange a mutually convenient schedule with the hauler.
The successful bidder must be a licensed wastewater hauler, who shall comply with all requirements of the Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Health, State Water Control Board and Department of Waste Management. In addition, the bidder shall at all times comply with the directions of the staff at the Warrenton wastewater treatment facility and the Rappahannock County landfill in matters of operational procedures (of particular note, wastewater may not be released into the treatment facility under pressure).
All bids should be submitted on a letter clearly identifying the company providing the service, be signed by the principal of the firm, and shall note any exclusions or limitations. The basis for the bid shall also be stated; for this agreement, a per gallon price shall be used. All fees for treatment of the hauled wastewater shall be the responsibility of Rappahannock County. All bids must be received at the County Administrator's Office, Old Extension Office, Gay Street, PO. Box 519, Washington, VA 22747 by Friday, February. 19, 1993, by 10:00 a m., at which time they will be opened Wing publicly read.
The term of the contract shall be for six months, from March 1, 1993 through September 6, 1993, but may be extended for an additional six (6) months upon agreement of both parties. The terms of Competitive Sealed Bidding as set forth in the Virginia Public Procurement Act shall apply. The County reserves the right to obtain alternate leachate disposal solutions (on-site treatment & disposal, etc.) should they become available.
