The DEQ wants to have the WSA install a 55,000 equalization basin. WSA members have guessed that might cost as much as $100,000. The DEQ has a revolving loan fund that could be used to finance such an improvement, but WSA members are hoping to avoid such an expense altogether.
“The debt service would be another $15,000 we don't have,” Chairman Eugene Leggett said.
Authority members expect to meet with representatives of DEQ sometime this week.
