The Rappahannock News is fortunate to have a reporter and photographer the likes of Cindy Mahan. Her series on general stores in the county has been enjoyable reading for many subscribers. She was especially kind to us at Hackley’s Store, and we are all grateful to have been included in the series.
Having grown up in and around my family’s store, 1 can attest to the unique and special experience it provides. Because general stores, more and more, are becoming a thing of the past, I am particularly pleased that we can share this wonderful tradition with our son, Josh.
