Dinner/Ball Fundraiser Set

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the George Washington Carver Alumni Association a dinner/bail fundraiser is planned for Saturday, * May 27.

The event will be held at Crystal Gateway Marriott from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. benefiting George Washington Carver’s Memorial Plaque. The allyou-can-cat dinner buffet will be semi-formal and no tickets will be sold at the door. The association is asking for a $40 per person donation.

Advisory Committee Meeting

The final Special Education Advisory Committee for the 1994/95 school year will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 25 in room 23 at the high school (Mrs. Logan’s room). A PBS documentary, “Educating Peter,” will be shown. The meeting is open to the public.

Dr. Stone To Address Seniors

Dr. Andrew Stone of the Rappahannock Medical Center will be speaking at the Senior Citizen Nutrition Center at 1 1:30 a m. on Wednesday, May 17. He will discuss eye care with an emphasis on, cataracts, glaucoma and muscular degeneration.

Ruritans To Meet

Amissville Ruritan Club will hold its monthly meeting at Bethel Baptist at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 18. The public is invited to join the Club for the program about 8 p.m. following dinner. Expected guest speaker is Cathy Cody. She’ll share her recent trip to Oklahoma City as a member of the Fairfax Fire Department’s Search and Rescue Team.

Dance at Amissville

The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will have a dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on May 13 with the band River Bottom. No reservations are required. Prices are $15 a couple or $8 for singles. Proper dress is required. For inform ition call 937-4357.
