The baseball and softball teams each added one win and one loss to their records in the past week.
In away games at Clarke County Thursday, the baseball team lost a close game. The Clarke Eagles got out to a 2 to 0 start with both runs scored as a result of errors.
The Panthers tied the score in the fourth inning on a home run by Paul Brown and an RBI single by Adam Bouffard. Rapp went up 3 to 2 on a Jon Digges home run in the sixth, but Clarke tied the score, and then won in the seventh on a squeeze plan that scored a runner from third base.
Willie Eastham pitched the whole game giving up six hits and walking four.
Coach Gochenour said he was very pleased with Willie’s pitching. “We played well, but they just played a little better and did what they needed to,” he said.
Meanwhile the girls’ softball team defeated Clarke 8 to 4. Clarke got out to a first inning 1-0 lead and led 3-1 in the third. Clarke added a run in the fourth; but the Panther squad added .three more and the inning ended with
