Jewish Theological Seminary of New York City. In 1992, shortly before her 70th birthday, she was ordained as a Rabbi — the oldest Rabbi ever to be newly ordained by the Conservative Movement.

Upon returning to the county Rabbi Theodore started the Havura Ktana, which is a friendship circle for Jews and their friends seeking to explore and deepen their relationship to Judaism.

Her primary Rabbinic and human mission she defines as working to save and to improve life on planet earth. Towards this end she is working, as Executive Director, for Witnesses for a Sustainable Economy.

As poet, social activist, educator and rabbi, Ms. Theodore explains that to become a rabbi does not mean to cease being a poet. “I love opening the poetry door to others,” she explains, “and I hope that people who have never been to a poetry reading as well as fellow poets and people who love poetry will come to my reading. Admission will be S6.

. Sharing the program with Rabbi Theodore will be the talented Gospel Singers of the Freeman Trio: James Freeman Jr., Dexter B. Freeman and Marsha Freeman who are well known and widely sought after by churches in a wide area around the County.
