Clients are referred from a variety of places and may come from your work experience.
An in-service is given at least once a year. Counselors have a chance to put into practice the financial management techniques they learn at the training.
The Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent acts as consultant to the counselor, and requests for counseling are made through the Extension Office. Counselors are encouraged to complete each case within six months or less. Most counselors devote two hours a month meeting with each family, plus the time necessary to prepare for counseling sessions.
