The RCHS soccer team added two more wins to their season last week, and remained undefeated at home.

They defeated Quantico 2-0 on Wednesday. Eddie Sause and Mike Letsen earned the two goals for RCHS. “It was a good competitive game,” said Coach Uli Maeyer.

On Thursday, they beat Clarke County 5-0. Goals were scored by Yoshio Korenaga, Mike Wolfe, Willie Shanks and two by Jim Clark. Coach Maeyer said he was able to play everyone on the bench, and that everyone did a good job. “I saw some good things happening out there,” he said.

Coach Maeyer said that this is the first year that Clarke County has had a varsity soccer team.

During the first half, Mike Switzer suffered a bad hit which knocked one of his back teeth out of line. At the time, some people thought that he may have broken his jaw. This week, he’s back in the game.

The team is scheduled to play at Brentsville this Thursday and at Clarke County on Tuesday. The last home game will be on May 18 against Brentsville.
