Prototype Stove

The construction of the new Kitchen,and rooms at The Inn is three weeks ahead of schedule and guests should be enjoying it by the fall.

The concrete slab, which delineates the boundaries of the new addition, was poured last Friday; this week the Avails are going up, to be quickly followed by the beginning of the second floor construction. “The big thing was getting (everything underground,” said Chef Patrick O’Connell, who is co-owner of The Inn with Reinhardt Lynch. He was referring to plumbing lines, etc., which were installed before pouring the slab.

The centerpiece for the new kitchen will be the Vulcan stove, a prototype being custom built in France of solid stainless steel. Seven chefs will be able to work at the stove simultaneously. The beauty of the stove, said Chef O’Connell, is that it makes for much better communication and all the chefs will be able to see what everyone is doing, and they can see what is on every pot on the stove.
