' Roof consultant Bill Hale from RamCorp. told school board members at last week’s meeting that the roof at Rappahannock County High School over the commons area and auditorium is completely saturated and is a code violation. It needs to be removed and replaced as soon as possible, he said.

He stressed that the decision as to what type of roof should be put on needs to be decided right away so the project can be completed over the summer. It is possible to do the roof during school, but Mr. Hale strongly recommended doing it while school is not in session. Doing the roof while school is in session can add to costs significantly, he said.

Mr. Hale’s company completed a study about replacing roofs at both the high school and elementary school,
