artwork. An unusual type of artwork; available is hand painted clothes done by artist Evonne Vey of Maryland who specializes in pet portraits and paintings of animals on fabric.
The shop hopes to host spinning lessons for those interested down the road and thereby promote natural fibers. They now have loose wool for spinning and weaving available.
An interesting addition to the shop is its collection of video training tapes on sheep, llamas, rabbits and other animals such as dogs and cats. The shop has set up a video display to educate customers on the procedures used . to process wool, the care of the animals, history of the animals, and using the wool products — for example in spinning. They also have books on animals, spinning and wool items.
As if all this wasn’t enough they will even take orders for handmade quilts with any fabric and pattern. These are all made locally. And more items are coming, handmade jewelry, stained glass and handcrafted bird houses. They are working on putting together a resource listing (wall) on area breeders of certain wool items that people can contact if they want certain items or are interested in a particular type of animal, such as a rare breed.
