Joan Bailey
Joan Barbour Bailey, 63 of Washington died at her home on Monday, April 14.
She was bom in August 15, 1933, to her parents, the late John Marshall Barbour and Ora Roberts Barbour.
She was a caring, loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
She was a lifetime resident of Rappahannock County and longtime member of the First Baptist Church, in Washington.
The recently retired from the Rappahannock County School Board. During her many years with RCSB, she touched many with her warm smile and kind heart. The later part of her career was spent working in the school board office.
Survivors include one son, Edward Homer Bailey, III of Culpeper; three daughters, Cheryl Gaskins of Jeffersonton, Sheila Bailey-Myers of Washington and Belinda Ford of Front Royal; one sister, Charlotte Freeman of Washington; two brothers, John M. Barbour Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska and Theodus B. Barbour of Washington; mother-inlaw, Ethel Timbers Bailey; 12 grandchildren, in-laws and a host of other close family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by here late and beloved husband, Edward Homer Bailey, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Washington on
