The second phase of a year-long, three million dollar construction and renovation project at Warren Memorial Hospital is complete, according to hospital President Charlie Horton.

The new BirthPlace maternity unit and Women’s Care Center recently opened on the first floor of the hospital, on the south side of the building. The addition includes a new main entrance to the hospital, an expansion of the lobby and patient registration area, and a relocation and enlargement of the Gift Shop, which is operated by the Warren Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

The initial phase of the construction project involved renovations on the third floor for a subacute rehabilitation unit, which opened in February. The final phase of construction, the expansion of the Emergency Department, is underway and will be complete later this summer. The improvements are made possible by funding assistance from Valley Health System, the non-profit parent corporation of Warren Memorial Hospital.
