The Town of Front Royal is accepting applications for a fulltime POLICE OFFICER vacancy. This position is responsible for the enforcement of local and state laws and ordinances; investigating traffic incidents; and performing other related police duties. Applicants must be a minimum of 21 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent. .An excellent driving record is required. COMPUTER LITERACY/PROFICIENCY IS REQUIRED. THE ABILITY TO PROVIDE TRAINING TO OTHER OFFICERS AND STATE IS PREFERRED. THE DEPARTMENT IS CURRENTLY USING MS OFFICE PROFESSIONAL FOR WINDOWS 3.1, V.4.3 FOR GENERAL, ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE WORK AND IS BECINNINC THE INSTAI.IATION OF “LAP-TOPS" IN PATROL CRUISERS. THE DEPARTMENT HAS COMPLETED TESTING OF THE “CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION SYSTEM," RELEASE 7.3 (sept. 1994) software package is aiso preferred, the statemandated “INCIDENT BASED REPORTING SYSTEM” IS CURRENTLY IN USE. ONLY THOSE APPUCAffTS MEETING THE COMPUTER LITERACY/ PRQflCJEHCY KEDL1REMENT NEED APPLY. Applicants must pass minimum physical and mental agility tests. The successful applicant must then pass a preemployment, post-offer physical examination and drug screening, paid by the Town. Pay range is 324,190-333,842 per year, depending on qualifications, with excellent benefits provided.
