Steve Critzer said he was worried about the security for Ms. Purnell’s paintings, and said he thought maybe things in the Town Hall should be owned by the town. Mayor Willis said he felt there was a general reluctance within the council to have artwork hanging in the Town Hall.

Mr. Gooch suggested the council check into other small jurisdictions to see if they have a policy regarding hanging artwork. Town attorney Frank Reynolds said he thought that Loudoun County might have such a policy.

Mayor Willis said that looking at the figures from the block grant study recently sent out to town residents, the town would not qualify for the block grant. Out of 105 houses in town, he said, 90 are occupied. Of the 75 questionnaires returned, 39 had too high of an income for the town to qualify. Ms. van Dort said that recent census figures could be used. However, the town will have to wait until next April to apply for the grant.
