The Lions regularly conduct vision and 'hearing screenings through their vision and hearing van which travels throughout the district. The booth will not take the place of the van’s regular visits which screen all county students who have permission for screening. Rather it will be a tool available for the speech department to enable them to more effectively screen students they work with.
Mr. Anderson said the Lions raised money for the booth, which cost $1241 as compared to a new one at $3750, through their annual auction, apple butter sale, Fourth of July food stand and memorial gifts from late members of the club
He also said the vision and hearing van will be in Rappahannock Thursday at Wakefield Country Day School and at Rappahannock Elementary School to finish up a class screening there.
