Once again, thanks to the generosity and dedication of the Rappahannock Lions Club, the school system here has a new addition.
A reconditioned, soundproof audio logical booth has been donated to the Rappahannock County Schools for use by the speech and hearing department.
Lion Robert Anderson headed up the effort, which took several years to complete. The booth itself was delivered the Thursday before Spring Break to Rappahannock Elementary School and since school resumed has been put to good use.
“We screen all new students for hearing and any students who exhibit possible hearing difficulties,” said Melissa Cofman, one of two speech clinicians for the Rappahannock School system. The other is Beth Young.
Melissa works with students from the third grade to the twelfth.
