Fauquier County Republican V Committee, said local party regulars welcomed the announcement, although “we were disappointed” that Katzen’s bid for higher office ended.
“I think Jay realized that he had to make a tough decision ... And its a result, we welcome him back into the fold here as a candidate for the 31st legislative district seat,” Parker said.
“I think it was just a situation where he ran up against a couple of fellas who had a big head start, and Jay had a long way to go to catch them,” Parker said.
