Other local roads are expected to be made passable within 24 hours after the storm stops under VDOT guidelines. Usually having roads passable occurs in less time. It depends entirely on the temperature, extended conditions and amount of accumulation.
If individuals have questions about roads in their areas, they ^ should call the local VDOT office at 675-3612.
Road conditions statewide during storms are available through the department’s Emergency Operations Center in Richmond by calling Highway Helpline at (800) 367-ROAD.
