Once again the Amissville Baptist Church, Amissville United Methodist Church, Bethel Baptist Church, and the Amissville Ruritan Club are joining forces for the Community Christmas Food Drive. There will be collection boxes for canned and boxed food items at the three churches as well as Hackley’s Store, Mayhugh’s Store, and LomBar-Dy’s in Amissville.
If you would like to make a cash donation, there will be collection jar at Hackley’s Store or you may contact Dorothy Hackley at 937-4822, Nancy Nicholas at 937-4470 or Charlie Priest at 937-4072 before Dec. 20. Donations may be mailed to Dorothy Hackley, P.O. Box 75, Amissville, Va. 20106.
Last year this effort helped needy families with generous food baskets and presented many senior citizens and shutins with fruit baskets and poinsettias.
