Visiting the Middle Street Gallery’s Christmas “Red Nosed Show” I felt the elation of a child going into a toy store. A host of artists have brought their imaginative works to tempt us with their variety, quality and humor.
Among the first objects that stopped my eye was Sandra Burton’s Cubistic Fish Mobile, because a section of it seemed to be a complicated, root formation with the smooth texture and color of skin and suggestive, contorted shapes- that aroused mysterious emotions. The “fish” attached to this construction are contrasting in their dark colors and solid, blocky nature.
