Hospital board of trustees, has announced the appointment of Rodger H. Baker as administrator of the hospital. Baker has served Fauquier Hospital during the preceding ten years as assistant administrator. Wakefield seniors Lara Dose, Jennie Shanks and Sally Miller won first, second, and third places respectively in the American Legion Oration Contest held in Front Royal on Saturday. Contestants from Warren County High School and Randolph-Macon Academy also competed in this annual event. The topic of the oration was, as always, any issue related to the U.S. Constitution. Shenandoah National Park Acting Superintendent Gerald W. Tays is suggesting a special “stocking stuffer* for Christmas giftgiving this year. “I can’t think of a better bargain, nor a more useful and appreciated gift, than either a Golden Eagle Pass or a Shenandoah Pass, Tays said.
