Public Hearing
Postponed
The council received a let-1 ter from McCarthy, also the County Zoning Administrator,on behalf of the Town Planning Commission. The letter recommended amendments to the town’s sign ordinances. Council member Reinhardt Lynch brought up questions of conflict of interest involving members and their participation in the public hearing. After discussion, they agreed to postpone the hearing until each member could individually contact the Commonwealth’s Attorney for guidance.
Planning Commission member Diane Bruce commended the council for their action, saying, “I think you have done the right thing to continue the sign issue. Some time down the road, someone might have challenged the decision. Now, you can be reassured that whatever decision you make will be okay.”
Other issues discussed by the council will appear in next week’s paper.
