Appreciation cookout planned

The Sperryville Auxiliary is sponsoring a thank you cookout for the fire department and all of the individuals who helped with the carnival. The cookout will be held at the Sperryville Fire Hall June 14 at 2 p.m. Hope to see you there.

Memorial service planned

There will be a memorial service for Elizabeth Trent Thomas “Betsy” on Saturday, June 27 at 3 p.m. (to around 4 p.m.) at the Washington, Va. Town Hall on Gay Street. Betsy died at her home in Castleton, in January 1998.

Health programs scheduled

The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board invites persons 60 years of age and older to participate in the following Health Promotion/Screening Programs to be held at the Rappahannock Senior Nutrition Center: June 19 at 1 p.m., Low impact Exercise by Ellie Clark; June 22 at 12 noon Program on Learning about Hearing Aids and June 29 at 11:30 a m. Program on Blood Sugar by Melinda, Public Health Nurse. For information contact Anita Richards at 825-3100, extension #3321.

Swing dance lessons continue

Swing dance lessons will continue at Trinity Episcopal Church on Saturday evenings at 7. Cost is $2 per person. Children are welcome. For more information call Lindsay and Heidi Eastham at 675-3444.
