One final note. A recent flurry of articles suggested that Senator Robb will probably run again. He will never again be the formidable Democratic candidate he once was, but should never be counted out. He has kept a low
f>rofile in the Senate due, at east in part, to committee assignments that deal with many secret matters. An Allen-Robb match-up would be fascinating since Robb was Virginia’s most popular office holder of the 1980s and Allen the most popular of the 1990s. It would be a perfect way for state political junkies to begin the new millenium.
