Fifty-four hospice volunteers and staff attended Hospice of the Rapidan’s annual volunteer recognition luncheon on Friday, April 24 at the Holiday Inn Culpeper. The nonprofit hospice organization cares for terminally ill patient and their families in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock counties. The luncheon honored volunteers who have provided outstanding service to hospice families throughout 1997.

Certificates for over 100 hours of service were presented to Ebba Conti of Culpeper, Leah Kesner of Culpeper, Donald Buckle of Madison, Joella Bradshaw of Orange, Grace Clark of Orange, Shep Elmore of Orange, and Andrea Weiss Horn of Orange.

Certificates for driving over 1000 miles were presented to Jeff Kesner of Culpeper, Ed Benfit of Stafford, Shep Elmore of Orange, Marjorie Corrallo of Rappahannock, and Andrea Weiss Horn of Orange. A posthumous award was presented to William Linane of Orange.

Hospice of the Rapidan also acknowledged Nina Christian of Culpeper, Mrytle Meadows of Culpeper, and Joanne Tepper of Castleton for crafting a volunteer quilt which hangs in the hospice offices at Mulberry Commons in Culpeper.
