Volunteer Joella Bradshaw of Orange County earned the organization’s Outstanding Volunteer of the Year award. She has been a volunteer at Hospice of the Rapidan for 11 years, and has served patients throughout the five county area.
Bradshaw is also a member of the hospice’s Volunteer Advisory Committee, which meets quarterly to review volunteer activities and make recommendations to the hospice management staff. As a spokeswoman for the organization, she has recruited many otfier volunteers to work with hospice.
During the luncheon, Rev. Kay Zello, a retired minister currently serving as an international missionary with Teen Challenge, delivered an inspirational message. Those attending the event also raised $400 in a silent auction to benefit the hospice Benevolent Care Fund, which allows the organization to care for everyone, regardless of their health care reimbursement resources. Rev. John Farrar, chaplain coordinator, delivered the invocation.
