Relay best ever

The 1998 Relay For Life was a huge success

with 23 teams from Rappahannock participating. Thanks to the Airlie Conference Center for the beautiful setting for the Relay and Fauquier County for hosting the event. Bruce and Dawn Chadwick do a great job as coordinators of the Relay.

Rappahannock is amazing. With a population of just over 7,000, 23 teams, participated and raised $24,429.82.

The American Cancer Society uses these funds toward research, education, prevention and patient services.

Thanks to team captains Bengy and Becky Atkins, Roberta Jenkins, Betty Klise, Louise King Eastham, Charlotte Freeman, Jon Heddleston, Karen Alexander, Sharon Dodson, Jan Palmer and Beverly Atkins, Aney Massie, Betty Jean Settle, Karla Miller, Naomi Smoot and Barbara Jenkins, Joyce Cooper, Jan Makela and Edie Fishback, and to everyone who participated in any way :— being on a team, donating money, or coming to the event. It was you who made the event a success. We are looking forward to the 1999 Relay For Life.
