Mr. Smoot is survived by his wife Darlene Smoot of Nokesville; two sons Matt Smoot of Independent Hill and Marc Smoot of Stafford; grandchildren Derek Green, Craig Smoot and Kyle Smoot; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted on Nov. 20 at Lee Funeral Home in Manassas. Burial was in Stonewall Memory Gardens.

Charles William Lee Shifflett, 87, of Amissville, formerly of Madison died on Friday, Nov. 20 at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.
He was predeceased by his wife Gladys M. Shifflett.
He is survived by six daughters Mary, Ellen, Shirley and husband Hershell, Shelby and husband Sebert, Hazel and husband Van and Gloria and husband Bob; a son Charles and wife Wanda; 26 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Also surviving are three •brothers Millard Shifflett, Earmon Shifflett and Preston Shifflett and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 23 at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery.
