Since the conclusion of he
initial TFR project last year, there have been several discussion meetings and pickups in the county. There now seems to be a monthly “rhythm” of sorts, with pickups and meetings, often including a pot-luck supper, rotating to various locations throughout the county.
The town hall in Washington, Rappahannock High School and a general county pick-up have been the past three month “base” locations. The December “base” will be Mountainside Market at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7. We will have a brief meeting and bag distribution, a pick-up, and a post pick-up pizza, etc. at Mountainside to begin planning for 1999 monthly pickups and to start refocussing on the major TFR ‘99 Clean-up.
John Kiser, 987-8445 is once again interested in helping sponsor this community benefitting project, but would like to see more communitywide participation than last year on all levels, including additional financial sponsorship from community businesses and organizations.
