Tl he holiday season is upon us, and with the leftover Thanksgiving turkey still warm, hordes of Christmas shoppers will descend on the stores, searching for that perfect sweater or tie rack or decorative cutlery set. And of course, toys. Toys define Christmas gift-giving, if only because everyone has to give so many of them to the children in their lives. And each year there is a new batch of weird and inexplicable things that parents and other confused grown-ups are forced to seek out in the spirit of holiday cheer . This year will be no exception. •Real Talking Bubba This is a cheerful redneck bear who wears overalls and makes a variety of off-the-cuff remarks, such as “I hate it when you grab my mouth,” when you grab his mouth. He retails for around $40. _ •Teletubbies These folks are imports from England, where they are hugely popular. There are four of them, and they appeal mostly to younger kids.
