These will be ready for the children when they arrive back at the Rappahannock Sheriff’s Office. A bountiful holiday food basket will be provided for each participating child’s family.
Some of the benefits of the program are: it places the child in a positive one-to-one contact with a law enforcement officer; in many cases it is the first time the child has had contact of this type.
It also affords the child to have something a little special for those Christmas memories.
Having personally been involved with this program has created great memories for me. I have seen children who were apprehensive and frightened at first, become bubbling, bright-eyed chatterboxes.
This program was an incredible success the last two years, and we hope to make it even better this year.
