bout this time of year, the twinkling
lights and ringing jingle
bells bring a bounce to the
step and a smile to the face
as everyone anticipates the magic of the holidays.
More importantly, however, the advent of Christmas season reminds us that sometimes the greatest gifts to ourselves are those we pass along to others.
Fauquier County is a busy place all year round, but come November and December, residents truly are hopping, trying to fill the needs of the less fortunate among us.
“It’s tragic to think that there are some people who wouldn’t enjoy the holiday season without the help of others,” says Tara Thornhill, resource coordinator for the Fauquier County Department of Social Services.
Local businesses and organizations are working to make sure everyone in the Fauquier area can enjoy the cheer of the season this winter. While goals are ambitious, helping hands hold the key to success.
