I commend the paper and its
staff writers for your reporting of the November meeting of the Washington Town Council. Your thorough reporting in the three front page articles has contributed to the public airing of some of the underlying trials and tribulations that are plaguing the sitting council.
However, any further public belaboring of these issues will not, alone, resolve them or bring the town together, nor will it result in an effective and representative governing body for the town.
It is now up to the members of council, to recognize that the town voters elected them as their representative^ — not to use their prejudices or vendettas — and to act accordingly.
