What do men want? •
The question puzzles women year round, but probably most of all during the holiday season when the shopping hysteria begins and daughters, wives and girlfriends unite to try and find the perfect gifts for the men in their lives.
“What should I get dad?” they ask. Or, “What would my husband like?”
When it comes right down to it, men are simple creatures, driven by simple urges. We want something we can use, like a hot stock tip or a nice collection of socket wrenches. If we can use it now, we’re even more ecstatic.
Sure we’ll wear that “nice” argyle tie you got us — once — to the Christmas church service. But those silk boxers with the cartoon characters on them, the one’s you thought we’d look “cute” in, won’t make it a foot outside of the bedroom.
So ladies, unless you truly understand and appreciate a man’s style, tread carefully with your holiday clothing selections. Let’s just say, there’s a lot to be said for gift certificates.
