Once determination is made of which children may participate, contact is made with the guardians/parents for their approval. The children will meet at the sheriff’s office and will be driven to KMart in Warrenton. Once at the store, the child is paired up with a uniform officer. Each child then can purchase $100 worth of merchandise of their choosing.
A large portion of the money will be used for items of personal need, such as clothing, shoes, etc. The deputy assigned to the child will give assistance in this area. Once the shopping spree is completed, the children will be eating breakfast with the law enforcement officers. Man}7 volunteers will be busy wrapping the presents the children have purchased.
