This first annual report card provides information on Virginia schools’ success in the statewide Standard of Learning (SOL) tests, and the online information provides for a comparative look at the performance of all schools in Virginia.
Virginia elementary and high schools have until 2003 to be accredited by having 70 percent of their students pass the SOL tests. In the first year of testing, RCHS students passed the accreditation bar in English and Science, but failed to pass in Math and History. Eighth graders passed the bar in one of four test areas, Science, as did fifth graders in English.
The highest score in last year’s SOL test were the Third Graders who passed in Math and Science, and nearly did so in English and History. Rappahannock results compared favorably with some selected regional schools. Neither Culpeper nor Charlottesville high students, for example, passed the bar in any
