Donald Brown is running for Jackson District Supervisor because “I have a vision for the future of Rappahannock County.” Brown says that he also has “a strong interest in county government.”
Brown, a native of Rappahannock County, is the son of Boyd H. and Annie Brown. His family’s roots here go back to the early 1800s. Brown had to ride a bus 50 miles a day to high school because of segregation, yet still managed to complete his daily chores on the farm where hie'grew up.
He previously served as a member of the Rappahannock County Board of Equalization. Brown has also worked in the construction business, supervising up to 100 people at a time. Recently, he opened Tobacco Road Mill Antiques in Amissville with his wife Mary. , He feels that it is important for a supervisor to listen to his constituents. In addition, Brown says that he will dedicate time to properly carry out his duties. He doesn’t feel that certain supervisors are available enough, which in his opinion overburdens county
