FY 2000 budget
The upcoming fiscal year budget was the subject of brief discussion. McCarthy pointed out that taxes will remain unchanged. Robert Anderson thanked McCarthy for his work on the budget.
Beverly Massie, former school board member, had some strong words about the school budget. She is astonished at how sharply the education budget has risen since she left the school board four years ago, well over one million dollars. She also feels that the School Board should take another look at the budget.
Ms. Massie also commented that she was glad to see the fire and rescue tax remain unchanged. However, she feels that a straight value tax is unfair to farmers.
