Mamie Brown

Sperryville resident

Mamie Mildred Schwartz Brown, 83, of Sperryville died Monday, May 31 at her residence.

She was born March 6, 1916 in Monongahela, Pa. to the late Philip Andrew and Ida Hamilton Schwartz.

She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Frank Brown and one granddaughter, Patricia Ann Brown.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, June 3 at 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Bible Church with Pastor Carl Menefee and Rev. Jon Heddleston officiating.

Burial followed at Sperryville Cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Richard “Buddy” Allen Brown and his wife, Shirley Ann; two grandchildren, Charles Allen Brown and Melissa Dawn Brown and one great-grandchild, Angela Gail Brown, all of Sperryville.

Found and Sons Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.

Bom in Sperryville, he was a retired, self-employed painter and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
