Jim Oyster was nominated by the Rappahannoek County Republican Committee for Hampton District Supervisor at its June 2 meeting. This is the first time that the committee has ever nominated someone for office.
Oyster told the committee “it is because of my family that I decided to run for supervisor”, adding “We came to Rappahannock County because we believed it would be a good place to raise kids. I want to do whatever I can to make sure that Rappahannock stays that way.”
Jim, his wife Evelyn and their six children live on Aaron Mountain. Oyster and his family have lived in the county for about 10 years. He has been a lawyer since graduation from law school in 1973. He received his higher education from Duke, American and George Washington Universities.
