Picks

Pickin’ celebration

at Hackley’s Store

Front porch pickin’ will be held at Hackley’s Country Store on Monday, June 14 from 6 until 8:30 p.m. “Bring your instruments, voices and lawn chairs and plan to have a good time,” said an organizer. The Rappahannock County 4-H members will be selling tickets for a 50/50 raffle to raise money for the 4-H General Fund to use for 4-H programs.

Cooking for

Optimal Health

Kathy Edwards, ND and Karen Loving, NCTMB will offer a one day workshop, Cooking for Optimal Health, on Saturday, June 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rappahannock Healing Arts Center in Sperryville. The cost is $50 per person and includes a “healthy” lunch. “The right foods do have the power to heal; just as the wrong foods can cause sickness, rapid aging and in time, premature death. Come learn what a “dead-food” diet consists of. The body cannot build strong new cells and maintain a healthy immune system to prevent disease when it is receiving lifeless food. We will cook a healthy lunch together and learn what you can do at home to create healthy meals,” said an organizer. Call Rappahannock Healing Arts Center to reserve your space 9877204 or 987-7241.
