Financial supporters who made the Literary Magazine a reality were: The Virginia Commission for the Arts, Headwaters, the Rappahannock County Public Education Foundation, the Federation of American Consumers and Travelers, the Curriculum Enrichment Program, the RCES PTO, and the Rappahannock County Public Schools. We are grateful to these very generous groups for this assistance.
• Last week two categories of fourth and fifth grade Science Fair winners were inadvertently left out of “Panther Pause”. We are very proud of the accomplishments of these students and congratulate them on their success.
• Students who won in the area of Biology were: Josh Makela (fourth grade) first place, Robbie Hamill-Huff (fourth grade) second place, Clay Vickers (fourth grade) third place.
• In the area of Chemistry the winners were: Megan Smith (fourth grade) first place, Alexander Neill-Dore (fourth grade) second place, Vincent Rice (fifth grade) third place.
• It has been announced that we have received a matching grant of $5500 from the Virginia Commission for the Arts to help fund next year’s RCES Student Calendar. Many thanks go to Mrs. Joy Rollins, RCES Music teacher; Mrs. Harriet Rosenblatt, RCES Art teacher and Ms. Sharon Wyrrick, Program Coordinator for the Greve Council for their hard work and dedication to this project.
