Hitt families came together at the Holiday Inn in Culpeper for their annual dinner and reunion. Approximately 25 people were in attendance.
Saturday afternoon the Hitt families and friends met at the home of Misty Hitt and June Clark for a study session and picnic.
Those attending were Mary Johnson of Lexington, Ky., John Hitt of Knoxville, Tenn., Conrad and Ann Line and grandson Ashley Ludwig of Baltimore, Md., Pat Kerrick of Culpeper, Barbara Littlefield of Monrovia, Md., Betty Grim of Sun City, Ariz., Anne Rodick of Bloomington, Ind., Elwyn and Linda Johnson of Modesto, Calif., Charlie and Mary Priest of Amissville, Lars Bohn of Trupach, Sieger-Land, Germany, Jane Sandoval of Fredericksburg, Lucia Kilby of Sperryville, Richard Burke, Heidi Bullock and Lee and Martha Lou Hitt, all local.
Everyone enjoyed themselves and the picnic continued into the late evening ending with everyone gathering around an old pump organ singing hymns.
On Sunday, Misty Hitt joined other descendants of those families that settled the German Colony in the 1700’s for a reunion. The event was held at the Germanna Community College in Locust Grove.
Butch Davies was the spokesman. Those attending enjoyed a delicious lunch, sharing genealogy research findings, and especially the German Band and Alpine Dancers.
