Jensen Kvarnes, an artist and resident of Washington, Va., was invited to show his handblown glass in the Texture and Folk Art Show presented by the Mattawoman Creek Art Center, Smallwood State Park, Marbury, Md., Friday, July 23 to Sunday, Aug. 22.
Kvarnes has been blowing glass professionally since 1994. He built his own studio, designing and building most of the equipment himself, during the winter of 1996-97, and blew his first piece in his studio on March 2, 1997.
The gallery hours are 1-5 p.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.
Kvarnes’ work is available for sale locally at The Fifth Street Gallery and Fabric Emporium and at the Georgetown Flea Market every Sunday.
