School safety and
security
Dr. Gangel reported on the school administration’s review of school safety and security and the recommendations developed as a result. Those recommendations include: the use of the School Resource Officer to assist with traffic concerns at both the high school and elementary school; the installation of a security fence at the rear of RCES to separate parking and playground areas; the installation of an entrance viewing window in the RCES office; the installation of two-way communications in all school classrooms; and continuing to lock the primary roadside entrance door during school hours. Dr. Gangel also noted that the administration was working on Emergency Guidelines, a draft of which would be available by the next School Board meeting.
